"K9" monsters you control gain 900 ATK during any turn in which your opponent has activated a monster effect in the hand or GY. If this card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by card effect: You can Set 1 "K9" Quick-Play Spell from your Deck or GY. You can only use this effect of ""A Case for K9"" once per turn. You can only activate 1 ""A Case for K9"" per turn.

This is an effect that does not start a Chain, applied while this card is face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone.
This effect is applied even if your opponent activated a monster effect from their hand or GY before this card was activated.
If this card is no longer face-up in the Spell & Trap Zone, the effect "Your "K9" monsters gain 900 ATK" is no longer applied.
* Regarding the effect of ③:
This is an effect that can be activated in the Graveyard if this card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, or in the banished state if it is banished face-up. (It can be activated in the location it was first sent to.)
It can be activated during the Damage Step.
