The monster effect "①: This card gains 100 ATK for each of your opponent's banished cards" is a Continuous Effect. (This card gains 100 ATK for each card currently banished that belongs to the player who is the opponent of the controller of "Archlord Zerato".)

The monster effect "②: If this card is banished: You can activate this effect during the Standby Phase of the next turn; Special Summon this banished card" is a Trigger Effect. (A Chain Link is built during the Standby Phase of the next turn after "Archlord Zerato" is banished, not when "Archlord Zerato" is banished.)

Even if an "Archlord Zerato" that was not Special Summoned by the proper procedure is banished, its effect to Special Summon itself will activate during the Standby Phase of the next turn and a Chain Link will be built, but the Special Summon will not be performed.

The effect of "Archlord Zerato" to Special Summon itself only activates during the Standby Phase of the turn after it is banished. If the Special Summon is not performed because the effect of "Vanity's Emptiness" is being applied, the effect will not activate again in a subsequent turn.
