[Regarding "You can only use the ① effect of 'Sacred Tempest' once per Duel"]

This is not treated as an effect.

If you activate the ① effect of this card name, you cannot use the ① effect for the rest of that Duel, regardless of whether its resolution was performed as described in the text, or if the activation or effect was negated.

Even during a Duel in which you have used the ① effect of this card name, you can still perform the activation of this card itself, or activate its ② effect.

【Regarding the ① effect】

This is an effect that creates a Chain Link and can be activated in the Spell & Trap Zone.

During a Duel in which this effect has not been used, you can activate it once during your End Phase.

When resolving this effect, you perform the action of "detach all Xyz Materials from those 2 Xyz Monsters," and if you successfully detach the Xyz Materials from both monsters, you then perform the action of "halve your opponent's LP." These actions are treated as occurring simultaneously.

If, at the time of resolution, either of the targeted monsters is no longer face-up in the Monster Zone, or if either of the targeted monsters has no Xyz Materials, the effect does not resolve. (You do not detach materials from the other Xyz Monster, and your opponent's LP is not halved.)

"Detach all Xyz Materials from those 2 Xyz Monsters" is not an effect applied to the monsters themselves. (Xyz Materials will be detached even from Xyz Monsters that are unaffected by Spell effects.)

【Regarding the ② effect】

This is an effect that creates a Chain Link that can be activated in the Spell & Trap Zone.

This is an effect that can be activated once during your Standby Phase.

If the targeted Xyz Monster is no longer in the Monster Zone in face-up position, or the targeted monster is no longer in the Graveyard when resolving this effect, the effect is not applied.

This effect is applied to a monster. (If the targeted monster is unaffected by Spell effects when resolving this effect, the effect is not applied.)
