For a monster to which the "effects are negated" effect is applied, its effects that are activated or applied on the field are negated. Furthermore, even if the monster leaves the field as a cost to activate its own effect, if that effect was activated in the Monster Zone, that effect is negated. (Effects that activate in the Graveyard, etc., are applied normally.)
