The monster effect "①: If you control a 'Photon' monster or a 'Galaxy' monster, you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing" is an effect that is not classified as an Ignition Effect, Trigger Effect, Quick Effect, or Continuous Effect. (You cannot perform a Summon this way unless a face-up "Photon" monster or "Galaxy" monster is present in your Monster Zone. Also, no Chain Link is created when performing a Summon this way.)

When performing a Normal Summon using the effect "you can Normal Summon this card without Tributing," you can only perform a face-up Normal Summon. (You cannot Set the card.)

The monster effect "②: If this card is Summoned by the method in ①: Target 1 'Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon' in your GY; this card loses 1000 ATK until the end of this turn, and if it does, Special Summon that monster in Defense Position" is a Trigger Effect. (This effect must be activated if "Galaxy Knight" is successfully Summoned without Tributing by its own effect. It targets 1 "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" in your GY.)

The effect "this card loses 1000 ATK until the end of this turn" and the effect "Special Summon that monster in Defense Position" are treated as occurring simultaneously.
