This effect does not target.
This effect is activated in direct chain to the activation of an Effect Monster's effect, or the activation of a Spell/Trap Card. (It cannot be activated in chain to the activation of a Spell/Trap effect.)
When activating this effect, Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster you control as a cost. (You can also Tribute 1 face-down Defense Position "Hieratic" monster you control to activate this effect.)
This effect can be activated during the Damage Step.
