This is a Trigger Effect that activates in the Graveyard.

This effect does not target.

This effect must be activated if its conditions are met.

This effect also activates during the Damage Step.

This effect will not activate unless this card, while controlled by its original owner, is destroyed by an opponent's monster in battle or by an opponent's card effect and sent to the Graveyard.

Regarding "Once per turn, while this card is face-up on the field, when the battle position of a 'Madolche' monster you control is changed: You can target 1 monster on the field; change it to face-up Defense Position, and if that monster is not a 'Madolche' monster, it cannot attack, and its effects are negated":

This is a Trigger Effect that can be activated in the Monster Zone.

It cannot be activated during the Damage Step.

It is activated by targeting 1 monster in a Monster Zone at the time of activation. (You can target a monster in either your or your opponent's Monster Zone, but you cannot target a monster that is already in face-up Defense Position.)

When resolving the effect, you perform the "change it to face-up Defense Position" action. If the monster is successfully changed to face-up Defense Position and it is not a "Madolche" monster, you then perform the "that monster cannot attack, and its effects are negated" action. (These actions are treated as occurring simultaneously.)

This effect can be activated if this card is already face-up on the field when the battle position of a "Madolche" monster in your Monster Zone is changed from face-up Attack Position to face-up Defense Position, from face-up Defense Position to face-up Attack Position, or from face-down Defense Position to face-up Attack Position.
