This is a Trigger Effect that can be activated on the field.

This effect can be activated when your or your opponent's monster declares an attack. After deciding whether to activate this effect, you decide whether to activate effects such as "Dimensional Prison". (You cannot activate this effect in a chain to the activation of "Dimensional Prison" or similar effects. If both are to be activated, you build a chain to perform the activation and resolution.)

It can only be activated once per attack declaration. If multiple attack declarations occur in one turn, it can be activated once for each attack declaration.

When activating the effect, detach 1 Xyz Material from this card as a cost.

This effect does not target.

At the time of effect resolution, perform the "negate the attack" action. If that monster was an Xyz Monster, also perform the "this card gains ATK equal to that monster's Rank x 500" action. (These actions occur simultaneously.)

The ATK gained by this effect continues to be applied as long as this card remains face-up in the Monster Zone.
