This card cannot be used as an Xyz Material for an Xyz Summon, except for the Xyz Summon of a Machine-Type monster.

The monster effect "Once per turn: You can target 1 'SD Robo' monster or 'Photon Orbital' you control; its Level becomes 8 until the end of this turn" is an Ignition Effect.
The monster effect "its Level becomes 8 until the end of this turn" targets 1 face-up "SD Robo" monster or 1 face-up "Photon Orbital" in your Monster Zone.
"If this card is used as an Xyz Material, it can only be used for the Xyz Summon of a Machine-Type monster" is not treated as an effect.
